Yura Osborn is a Japanese artist living in New York and a recent graduate of the School of Visual Arts here in New York City. Her work often features a repetition of some sort which she relates to the act of meditation and as a link to her own roots. Her work is ambiguous and warm...it's hard not to smile when looking at them as if you were both in on some shared secret!
Anyone living in New York can probably relate to the grind and rapid pace of it. Yura's work offers you some time for you to relax and breath and perhaps even smile a bit. :)
See more of Yura Osborn's work on her website, read her artist statement and check out her blog.
Yura Osborn is also producing an awesome storefront for us here at 21LUDLOW:
See it finished in person Friday at our opening reception for Works on Paper at 6pm!
All works in post are available for sale. For further information, please contact May or Daniel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
